Speakers for Hope
Speakers for Hope is an outreach, education, and support program offered in collaboration with the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office and MA DPH BSAS. This engaging program is part of the Gavin Foundation’s ongoing effort to provide innovative programming and ongoing encouragement to individuals who have been affected by alcoholism and drug addiction. Speakers for Hope uses public figures and young adults who have been affected by alcohol and drug use and have turned their lives around. They speak about what it means to overcome adversity and invite their audiences to share their experiences. These interactive sessions are 50 minutes long and include a speaker presentation, discussions on Refusal Skills, Goal Setting and Support Systems, followed by a lively Q&A. Our motivational speakers are prepared to field questions and concerns raised by their audience in order to educate adults, teens and preteens on the effects of alcohol and drug use and abuse.
The program offers sessions at schools, community organizations, and religious groups. For more information or to schedule a speaker for your school or group please contact Kathy Connors at 617-268-5517 ext 11.
